Thinking about all of the additional joys in my life the last four years since meeting another very important lady! Vicki. I met her four years ago when I met my birth Dad and she is amazing! I am blessed for having her in my life.
When I called to talk to my Dad that first time, I was so scared and didn't have a clue what to expect. Her wonderful kind voice reassured me that they were excited to get to know me and have me in their life. She patiently answered all of my questions about the family over and over and over again.
Vicki is very insightful and perceptive. She has this knack of cutting through all of the fluff and getting right to the point. She notices the little things and is thoughtful about asking about the important things in my life.
And... David enjoys her... cooking and mothering. Of course he loves giving her a hard time when we are together and teasing her.
She is a wonderful Grandmother to my boys. The first weekend when they drove up to meet us, she followed them around finding out about their interest, joking, cooking and laughing lots. She tirelessly looked at all our pictures.
Now it is like she has been in our lives for a very long time and we are looking forward to many more holidays together!
Sometimes those moms we honor are new in our lives but their impact alters our lives forever. God knew I need many motherly and nurturing women in my life! I am blessed to have her!
