The most important learning takes place in the hundreds of small interactions throughout our days. These repeated experiences form our procedural memory. The Circle of Security Parent program founders call this, "The unthought known."
We can know something, before we think something. If we don't reflect, think and renew...we do what we don't want to do and don't do what we want to do.
We have to get to the bottom of it! To dig into the known about ourselves. To put into language our own Heart's Cry.
Some great steps:
1. Time and space for reflection.
2. Write. Write. Write.
3. Listen. Pray and ask God to reveal all the cries of our heart.
4. Write. Write. Write.
Writing our reflections puts language to the experiences in our life.
Bringing the unthought known into the land of the known.
Then we see where we are and where we need to go.
The best lesson we can learn is living. Our life. Our living lesson.
