You know the one....spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted. When you feel like you have just run into a brick wall and are now lying flat out on your back? That is where I am.
While we have been outwardly getting back to the work of life after Barb's passing...our hearts feel like they are carrying cement blocks. A heaviness that I've never felt before is my constant companion.
God has so much grace, mercy, love and wisdom and He can use everything in our lives to make us more like Him and bring us closer to Him.
I once read in Donald S. Whitney's book, Simplify Your Spiritual Life that sometimes the most spiritual thing to do is sleep~ to take a nap.
"God made us a unity of body and soul, and one influences the other. When your soul is either happy or discouraged, it can affect how your body looks and feels. And when your body is exhausted, it tends to dampen the zeal of your soul. In fact, fatigue often weakens our resolve against temptation, and provides excuses for anger, lust, and other sins."
So today- I'm sleeping.
