My Mom-in-law and my boys' Grandma lived for the boys. She has five Grandsons who adore her.
Last night, my oldest son came to youth group to share some of his life as an instructor in the air force. His little brother beamed (not a manly thing to say so don't tell my boys!) The boys followed him around hanging on every word and the girls swooned.
While I did choke up a little, I also squared my shoulders with pride and determination. When I thought about how proud Barb would have been if I could tell her...I smiled.
She would be so proud of her family continuing to push ahead. We are working, teaching, learning, studying, wrestling and living our lives. That would make her so proud!
My oldest coming home to spend so much time reconnecting with his family would bless her. My middle son going back to school and finishing strong would please her more then he will know. My youngest son going to school, continuing practice and flirting with a girl...would tickle her.
Life will continue and she will always be on our minds and in our hearts. We will grieve but we will determine to live life intentionally and with excellence!!!!!!!!
