I have gotten lazy in the stocking of my cupboards and pantry. The very early blizzard has kicked me out of my apathetic mindlessness.
O.k. The blizzard and knowing my boys will be home for Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Today, I brought up my spread sheet from its hidden folder on my computer and updated the list. Woof-ta. It is quite the list, and I'm checking it twice.
I cannot afford to wait to the last minute, nor do I want to. I want to be as prepared as possible...to let go and enjoy my family.
And its October. Pumpkins, squash and corn are all reminders to bring in the harvest.
First things first.
Paper, cleaning, laundry, canned and spices are the first items on the list to stock up on.
The Simple and Sweet:
Toilet Paper
Soap
Baking Soda
Vinegar
Personal Items
Water
Salt
Syrup
Honey
Canned Vegetables, Beans, Lentils and Meats
Dried beans, rice and fruit
Nuts
Batteries
Candles
Ibuprofen/Tylenol/Allergy/ Medicines and Vick's
Growing up where I did, the early years of struggle in our marriage means...if I do not have three big packages of toilet paper and personal items...I am anxious!
So in the planning for the holidays...Begin with the Basics!
