Driving across the Sandhills of Nebraska is a dreamer's paradise! Big sky, giant horizons, no distractions and long roads.
The land ripples on and on. A place so big, a single person is swallowed up. A wild and lonely land.
Some perceive this as a fly over land of desolation. Until one takes the time to be still and quiet and carefully observe. Every square foot is full of life! I love this place!
God has placed a path or a road, and a race before each of us.
It is for us to run, walk or crawl forward on.
My road feels very much like this one right now. Lonely.
In between markers and stopping points and rest areas.
A surreal time warp feeling of moving forward without taking a step.
And yet, this is the road God has for me to walk.
The race He has marked out for me to run.
It is my road and my race to run.
I can second guess and feel inadequate and lost all I want.
Put my thumb in the air or throw myself on the ground and throw a fit all I want.
It is still my road and my race to run.
Others can disagree, criticize and judge. They can point, holler and tell me I'm wrong.
It is still my road and my race to run.
God has put a vision in my heart and given me a job to do. It is still my road and my race to run.
"Therefore,
since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also
lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us,
and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing
our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy
set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down
at the right hand of the throne of God.…" Hebrews 12:1-2
