Five Minute Friday: Going Out Fighting
Begin:
I want to go out fighting.
I want to stay in the game to the very last second.
I want to stay disturbed with as is and pushing every limit.
I want to go out fighting.
Fighting to the edge and going over.
I want to push back my own apathy and settling spirit.
I want to go out fighting.
Fighting the hard battles.
Fighting the "this can't be done" or the "this is good enough."
I want to go out fighting.
Fighting giants even if I lose
Rather then chasing rabbits that I might win.
I want to go out fighting.
I want it to be said of me that whether I lost or won...
I...went out fighting everytime.
Fighting the Good Fight!
END
"Disturb us, Lord, when we are too well pleased with ourselves, when our dreams have come true because we have dreamed too little, when we arrive safely because we have sailed too close to shore. Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly to venture on wider seas where storms will show Your mastery; where losing sight of land we shall find stars. We ask You to push back the horizons of our hopes; we ask You to push in the future in strength, courage, hope, and love." – Sir Francis Drake - 16th century English sailor
